Every home has a story, and so does every home decor decision — the good ones and the ones you regret within a month. Oak & Nook exists because we got tired of choosing badly.
We’re a brother-and-sister team who grew up watching our parents redo the same rooms every few years, never quite happy, never quite sure why. When it became our turn to decorate our own spaces, we realised the advice out there wasn’t much better than guesswork — trend pieces with no substance, reviews that felt written by someone who’d never touched the product, and buying guides clearly designed to sell rather than to help.
So we decided to do it properly. We started researching every decision the way we wished someone had done for us — comparing materials, checking what actually holds up over years (not just what looks good in a photo), reading through manufacturer specs most people skip, and talking to people who work with these products for a living. What we couldn’t verify, we didn’t publish.
That habit became Oak & Nook: a place to get a straight answer about your home, backed by real research instead of recycled opinions.
